Sustainability

Creating beautiful products shouldn't come at the expense of our planet. Our commitment to sustainability guides every decision we make.

Our Commitment

At Verdena, sustainability isn't a marketing strategy—it's a fundamental responsibility. We believe that luxury and environmental stewardship are not mutually exclusive, and we're dedicated to proving it through our actions.

Our Initiatives

Ethical Sourcing

We source 100% of our leather from certified tanneries in Italy that meet the highest environmental and animal welfare standards. Every hide is a byproduct of the food industry, ensuring no animal is raised solely for leather production.

Vegetable Tanning

Our signature leathers undergo traditional vegetable tanning using natural tannins from tree bark and plant matter. This centuries-old process eliminates harmful chemicals while creating a beautiful, long-lasting material that develops character over time.

Circular Economy

Through our repair program, we extend the life of your Verdena products indefinitely. Leather scraps from production are repurposed into smaller accessories or donated to artisan training programs, ensuring zero waste.

Renewable Energy

Our Florence atelier runs entirely on solar power, and we've partnered with carbon-neutral shipping providers to minimize our transportation footprint. By 2026, we aim to achieve carbon-negative operations.

Sustainable Packaging

Our packaging is crafted from 100% recycled and biodegradable materials. Dust bags are made from organic cotton, boxes from post-consumer recycled cardboard, and we've eliminated all plastic from our packaging chain.
